Emotional Support

The primary purpose of this support group is to give you someone to talk to, whether you have TM, or you are a caregiver, or someone you care about just gave you the news.

When I talk with a fellow TM’er, I feel better for myself because someone understands me and listens. I feel better for the other because one more person understands him/her.

I also feel good because I can give by listening.

A Place to Call First

I also want to be a first stop for someone in Idaho who just got the diagnosis. We remember all the questions and fears. "They" all told me it would feel better to talk with someone who knows. I didn't believe "them" until I did it.

Before you read all about it, talk to someone who knows how it feels. No written words can tell you that. No paper can listen to you describe your anxiety. That is important.

We live in a big place with few people. Your nearest TM neighbor is probable far away. It still feels better to call someone here. My first call was to Robin, in Boise, and we talked for an hour! It felt that good. Complete strangers until then.
